
On May 29th -30th and June 12th -13th Forum for Dialogue
Among Nations in cooperation with the Warsaw Center for Education and Social
Innovations and Trainings organized two weekend study sessions for its new
group of educators. 
The history of Jews in Poland, the past and the
present of Polish- Jewish relations as well as issues related to Judaism and
Jewish tradition were the main topics of the meetings. The participants visited
also the Nozyk Synagouge where they could observe the morning prayer. They had
the opportunity to listen to such speakers as Maciej Kozlowski- former
Poland's Ambassador to Israel; Mr. Piotr
Kowalik- the director of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews Educational
Center and Mr. Robert Szuchta- historian, author of the first curriculum for
teaching about the Holocaust. Furthermore, they discussed difficult questions
in Polish- Jewish dialogue with Michal Bilewicz- the coordinator of the
University of Warsaw Center for Research on Prejudice. 
The whole series of lectures and meetings was
the next component, after the weekend session devoted to trainer's skills, of
the training cycle for Forum's new group of educators. A day devoted to the
theory and practice of leading the Polish- Jewish Youth Meetings and a study
visit to the former concentration camp Auschwitz- Birkenau are awaiting them
after the summer vacation.
