In the end of October a group of students who won the 2nd award for the best commemoration project in 2010 School of Dialogue, went in reward on a two-day field trip to Kazimierz Dolny.

Students from Warsaw in Kazimierz Dolny

It was a unique occasion for military students from a Warsaw based high school to learn what a shtetl used to be and how different the life of Jewish communities in small towns and villages before the war was comparing to the one in the capital city.

Forum's educators introduced the students to these ideas during special workshops and a site visit to the local Jewish cemetery. Student were also taken on a tour of Kazimierz's Jewish sites by a local guide. The participants visited the synagogue and participated in a museum lesson at Kamienica Celejowska (Celej House) which has a rich collection of paintings depicting postwar Kazimierz and its Jewish citizens.
