In the end of October, the Forum hosted a group of Jewish leaders from the United States, among them, the President and Executive Director of the Kronhill Pletka Foundation. The group took part in a weekly seminar, meeting with university professors, diplomats, Jewish community representatives and other experts engaged in Polish-Jewish dialogue. During the meetings and site visits, the participants discussed important problems and challenges as well as perspectives for development in Polish-Jewish relations. Our guests travelled to Warsaw, Krakow, Oswiecim and Kutno - a former shtetl north of Lodz which used to be an important center for the Jewish community before the war. In Kutno, the participants had an opportunity to meet with high school students from the Forum's School of Dialogue program. After a short introductory workshop, young Poles guided their American guests through the town's Jewish sites. |
